Local Authority Officers with responsibility for Children Missing from Education have been meeting for the past few years on an informal and slightly ad hoc basis.

What began as a Greater Manchester Network soon attracted interest from other Local Authorities surrounding or near to Greater Manchester.

As the importance of tracking missing children grew, so did the need for sharing information and documentation.

Meetings took place termly and hosts were 'volunteers' who coordinated meetings and provided lunch.

This was fine when there only 10 local authorities represented, but as attendance grew the need for a more formal approach became apparent.

So......

This year a membership subscription was introduced and more than 20 LAs are now fully paid up members.

Membership allows 2 representatives to attend meetings, access to members only sections of the website, and access to discussion and information sharing forums.
